I was so impressed with your quick responses via email to any of the questions I had while I was back at home in Nebraska and so far away. I also want to thank you for storing my shipped boxes of flowers, tuxes, etc. at your house prior to the wedding too. The only thing I would recommend is a short rehearsal. We didn't do that and ended up rushing through the service without even having the musician play. Also, allow yourself plenty of time with the photographer for all the beautiful pics you can take. Make a list of of the people/places you want for pictures prior to the wedding. We didn't have the necessary time and were rushed to get those done which hurried the ceremony in the Garden Club. Sincerely, Planning a destination wedding can easily be something that turns you into a raving lunatic-so it's vital to have a planner who is willing to cope with lunacy and eventually deliver excellence. Kathy and her staff delivered excellence and peace of mind on my wedding day-and I don't know how I would have done it without her. I did contact other Key West planners before going with As You Wish-and believe me when I tell you-this company has everything you need. It will provide you with wonderfully competent vendors and provide you with options that fit the mental dream you have of your wedding. And if I haven't said it before- thank you thank you bless you!~ On October 11, 2003 at 7:03pm just before sunset I married my beautiful wife in witness of our closest friends and family. As You Wish Weddings made October 11, 2003 a fairy tale wedding for two women who were not seeking legal recognition for their commitment to one another but were seeking an opportunity to express their love to God and those they loved. We are so thankful to Kathy Salamone and As You Wish Weddings for treating us so kind and making us feel like superstars during our time in Key West! Kris and I will never forget our wedding day. It was absolutely perfect! We were married over the ocean and had a fantastic reception on the beach where all our friends kicked off their shoes and danced the night away! Thank you so much for helping us create a life time of memories! Kathy created our vows and performed our ceremony when we were married at the Southernmost House last year. Everyone commented on how beautiful the ceremony was. Kathy spoke with us on the phone and met with us prior to the ceremony to get to know us, and we felt very comfortable with her and were genuinely touched with how she personalized our vows. As an out of towner, I asked for vendor recommendations and she recommended Great Events catering and even got me a discount on my flowers. Kathy helped to make my wedding day perfect. I just wanted to let you what a wonderful experience it was working with AS You Wish Weddings. We certainly appreciate all that you did to make it as stress free as possible. I think it's pretty natural to be skeptical about something especially when you have never even been to Key West and had to referrals. You did an amazing job of making us feel comfortable and at ease and we couldn't have asked for better treatment by the officiant and the photographer. It was all in all a great experience and the photos turned out great. The only thing that we didn't get that we had hoped for was the champagne flutes and I'm sure it was because we didn't do the initial champagne toasting at the beach site. Other than that everything went as planned. We are hoping to get our marriage license soon so that I can get my last name changed officially. Jenny and Kevin Brown (married April 19, 2005) We had a great time at our wedding and we want to thank you. Our ceremony was perfect. There wouldn't be a thing that we would change. We had so many people come up and tell us that our ceremony was one of the most beautiful ceremonies that they have seen. You had everyone in tears and then everyone in laughs...it was wonderful! Andrew and I wanted to thank you and your staff for everything. Our special day was everything we could of hoped for and you were mostly to thank for that. People always say that everything happens for a reason and I know that this was the case with you being introduced to us. God really knew what he was doing when he brought you into our lives. Our wedding day turned out to be better than we could of ever expected. Even missing the ferry didn't put a damper on things. We ended up being the only people on the ferry and the driver stopped in the middle of the ocean for us to look at the sunset and take pictures. It was picture perfect. We have already gotten the pictures back and they turned our great. Tommy did a wonderful job capturing our special day. I think you did an awesome job in planning my wedding. Living in Louisiana made planning a Florida wedding almost impossible. By pure luck I was able to find a your company by searching the internet for wedding planners and crossing my fingers that you would do a great job. After speaking with you on the phone in, I guess it was August, you and I began planning my wedding. I had a few major requests which was a beach wedding in Key West that would be unforgetable to me and my friends and family. It was stressful not knowing how things would turn out but just trust that you would make the right decisions for me. You were able to put my family and I in the best hotel on the island at a $50 less a night per room. Considering a room there was $300 per night, it made a huge difference for the 12 people who stayed there. Also the view from my room was breathtaking, overlooking the ocean. It has been over a year and my family still brags about how wonderful our stay was. The wedding was also beautiful. The photographer and priest were great too, also chosen by you. The reception was excellent, which you had set up before. I have no regrets dealing with you or your company. It was definately an unforgetable time. My experience with you an your company could not have been better. All my expectations were greatly exceeded. If I was to do it again, I would not hesitate to contact you and your company. Our wedding experience with As You Wish Weddings can be summed up in two words…just right! We got married at Fort Zachary Taylor State Park in Key West on October 5, 2004 at sunset. Planning the wedding couldn't of been easier. Kathy, our consultant, was very eager to arrange the flowers, the cake, the decorations, and the music. She also helped us personalize our vows. This made planning stress-free since we were doing it from Fort Worth, Texas. We actually sailed into Key West on a cruise line that day. Transportation was waiting to take us to our ceremony spot and the ceremony went off without a hitch. Everything was beautiful and it couldn't of better. Thank you so much As You Wish Weddings! Ricky and I had a fantastic day. We had a commitment ceremony held at Atlantic Shores on July 14, 2004, 10 years to the day on the spot we had met. The ceremony was performed at the end of the pier at Atlantic Shores at sunset, and it was magical. The service provided truly touched us, and we have later heard from many family and friends who were in attendance that it was the most beautiful wedding, be it a wedding or not, that they've attended. My husband and I were married on April 1, 2005 in Key West. We enlisted the help of "As You Wish Weddings" in making our arrangements. I honestly have to say that we never would have pulled together the services and had the perfect wedding that we had without their help. I worked with Carl in my planning, which was done in a few short months. I had searched on-line for a wedding consultant and after talking to a handful of others, I decided in my first conversation with Carl that I liked him and felt confident in what he said he could do for us. He never let us down. In fact, Carl clearly went the extra mile in making the planning and then the actual wedding stress-free and absolutely enjoyable. He answered my occasional phone calls and frequent e-mails promptly and thoroughly. I always had the feeling that my small wedding was just as high a priority to him as any of the much larger ones he works with. His recommendations for everything from flowers, to music, to photographer, to restaurants, to venue for the ceremony were exactly as he described them and consistently exceeded our expectations. Kelston Chavez was our photographer and did an awesome job and was a delight to meet. Fort Zachary Taylor State Park was just perfect. Carl also guided us to various vendors for entertainment and fun in Key West as we were unfamiliar with the area and spent a week there with our children before the wedding. We also had an opportunity to meet with Kathy and Carl a few days before the wedding and spent a couple of hours talking about our lives, our hopes for our wedding ceremony and our families. Those couple of hours were one of the high points of our interaction with As You Wish Weddings. We both were drawn to Carl and Kathy and felt absolutely at ease with them in that meeting. Kathy is a very special "Woman of the Cloth" with a spiritual presence that is both powerful and respectful. She wrote our ceremony and we felt so much at ease with her that we did not even feel the need to see and "approve" it in advance. When Arlo married us a few days later we were all moved to tears. I am amazed at her ability to have picked up on so much of what was essential in our lives and translate it so beautifully into words that expressed the very powerful feelings we were bringing to our marriage. We will be forever in awe of the beauty of our wedding ceremony. It was loving, intimate and a very real reflection of us. Arlo was wonderful and completed the picture perfectly. All in all, my only wish is that I could do it all over again, exactly as we did, because it was so wonderful! After deciding that myself and Damian wanted to get married in Key West, we started searching for a company that we could work with to plan us the perfect day we had always dreamed of. After contacting a number of companies it became clear that 'As you wish weddings' were extreamily professional, whilst friendly.
Over a number of months we sent many emails and there was two way communication between ourselves and the as you wish staff, nothing was too much trouble. When we arrived at Key West and met Kathy, our main co-ordinator we knew we were in safe hands. The wedding lived up to all our expectations, and more. Everything ran smoothly, the venues were lovely (all recommended by Kathy), and the ceremony just what we hoped for.
My advice to anyone is that if you want to organise your day piece by piece, with the help of a guiding hand to advise on venues/ flowers/ food etc then choose 'As you wish weddings', myself and my husband will certainly never forget our beautiful day. It's been almost two months since Dan and I were married at Ft. Zachary, and we can easily say we wouldn't have changed a thing! Your staff was most helpful in quickly organizing an intimate wedding at sunset on the beach, and we can't thank you enough! To anyone considering Key West, we urge you to consider using "As You Wish", no matter what age, or price range, they'll organize a wedding to fit YOU. We are 50 and they made us feel very comfortable, and realized that this was an incredibly important event in our lives. We can't tell you enough: hire a photographer, we had a blast with Tom, and the pictures are incredible. All of our family and friends say they are the most "natural" they've ever seen! Carl couldn't have been more helpful, giving us info on the marriage license, making sure the champagne was chilled, and getting us a taxi after the ceremony! To the staff we want you to know WE'LL BE BACK SOMEDAY!
